UCLA volunteers planted 22 new trees on Sunday in Westwood Village as part of the fourth annual WOMP, the Westwood Organized Meaningful Projects service day. WOMP aims to clean and beautify the Village and engage with the community, said Rachel Corell, director of the
UCLA Volunteer Center. The more than 300 students also created hygiene kits for the homeless and worked with the residents of two local senior homes, where they played board games, taught a yoga class and told stories. Outdoors, they re-painted curbs and light posts, removed graffiti, cleaned up litter and more.
