ELGIN, Ill. -
(EINPresswire via NewMediaWire) - February 11, 2014 - Trusted Google photographer, Keith French, a commercial photographer specializing in marketing and advertising photography, recently finished photographing more than 25 Chicago area hotel interiors for Google’s new online 360 virtual tour program.
Keith French, a celebrated Chicagoland commercial photographer has recently completed work on Google's new 360 Hotel Virtual Tour. French photographed more than 25 Chicago area hotel interiors for the new endeavor over the last 6 weeks. Hotels from all of the major chains were represented and included sites such as The Drake, Doubletree and Embassy Suites. The Google 360 Hotel Virtual Tour is a pilot program only run in Chicago, Boston and Miami. Based on the results of the pilot program, Google plans to expand the program nationally.
"I was humbled that Google chose me from the list of Google Trusted Photographers to put their best foot forward in shooting this Pilot Program. If your business is to attract people to your building/store then this virtual tour is essential to your marketing scheme. This technology puts potential customers at ease when they can visit your facility on line and tour it to build a certain comfort level or desire to want to come for a visit and spend some money," said Keith French of Keith French Photography (http://kfrenchphoto.com).
A full time professional Chicago commercial photographer, Keith French has been in the photography field since 1984. He has many years of experience shooting interiors and architecture commercially and owned and operated a retail camera store for 9 years. He currently owns and operates a professional grade Chemical Photo Lab and has been a trusted Google photographer since July of 2012. Prior to becoming a professional photographer, French served in the U.S. Marine Corps attaining the rank of Captain. He has shot photos on 4 continents.
The Google 360 Hotel Virtual Tour is part of the Google Business Photos (GBP) program. The GBP program anchors the virtual tour to its Google places or Google+ for Business page. Images are fully searchable and are hosted by Google for free for an indefinite amount of time. Participants own the images and can embed them on their own websites.
Linking capabilities allow business participants to send out links of the tour in online communications or via social media. The images help make a business findable on Google Local, Google Places, Google Plus, Google Maps, Google Search Organic and Google Street view.
"As a former retail store owner I see this technology as a no brainer for marketing and advertising your business. Where else can you get 24/7/365 coverage with the horsepower of Google and have customers virtually visit your store, restaurant, spa, medical office, from their cell phone or tablet for a very affordable one-time fee? For what I used to spend on a 2 column, 2 inch newspaper ad that ran for only one weekend day, I could have covered my entire floor plan and have Google host it for free," said French.
The Google Business Photos program costs less than the cost of more traditional marketing and advertising photography and has the benefit of being supported by Google. Photos can be re-taken if the business changes its looks or wants to vary images depending on the season. The program is particularly helpful for businesses that need to attract people or are service-related such as: restaurant, pubs, retail store, gallery, day care, private school, chiropractor, orthodontist etc.
