The undisclosed mobile operator is deploying NuRAN Wireless’ GSM Superfemto to enhance in-building coverage for office spaces and other areas where users experience poor quality of service. The installed units not only increase indoor signal strength, they also offload the macro network, a highly desirable feature in dense areas. By adding these small radius cells where demand is concentrated and where signals from outdoor base stations are severely attenuated, operators exploit cellular frequencies in a localized manner, thereby making much more efficient use of licensed spectrum.“We are thrilled to have such an important carrier deploy our product in its network.
