(NewMediaWire) - October 14, 2014 - Homejoy, the home services online platform Homejoy is adding three new international markets: Paris, Munich and Hamburg.
Munich opened last month, Paris launches today, and Hamburg will be the next Homejoy market to be added. The company also expects to be in all major French cities by the end of 2015.
“Homejoy was created to allow people to find time for themselves, to spend their time doing things that are either more pleasurable or more profitable for them,” said Co-Founder and CEO Adora Cheung. “And that simple concept has been proven now around the globe.”
Founded in 2012, the San Francisco start-up has gone global, throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and now France.
During its first two years of operation, the company grew in North America, opening 27 US markets in seven states and the District of Columbia, as well as two Candian markets, in Toronto and Vancouver. In April 2014, Homejoy expanded into the United Kingdom and Germany, opening London and Berlin.
“Our international launches have opened bigger than any of our previous markets and, in such a short time, Homejoy’s international operations already account for around 10 percent of our overall business. Adding London and Berlin this year has increased our overseas bookings by a factor of 10 and we anticipate the next three cities will triple that again,” Ms Cheung added.
