The City of Carlsbad is offering dozens of classes for a variety of ages and interests, from swing dancing to exercising with your dog on a city trail to ballet for children. The classes available in July bring people together to learn new skills, exercise and socialize.

•  Adult Ballet - Class is for beginners who want to learn the basics of ballet, or for experienced dancers who just want to dance. Ages: 16 and up. Fees: $63 resident/$73 non-resident.
•  K-9 Fitness Rancho Carrillo Trail/K-9 Workout Hosp Grove -Participants and their well-behaved, leashed dogs will work out along the trails using resistance bands and plyometrics. Ages: 18 and up. Fees: $96 resident/$106 non-resident.
•  Stroller Yoga - While spending time with their young ones, participants will work onbasic yoga stretching, flexibility/strength work and cardio fitness. Ages: 16 years and up. Fees: $67 resident/$77 non-resident.
•  Thriller Dance Workshop: Part I - Participants will learn choreography that is taken directly from and matching the full length video of Michael Jackson's song, "Thriller." Ages: 16 years and up. Fees: $79 resident/$89 non-resident.
•  West Coast Swing - Adults will learn and review basic dance patterns of this bluesy swing dance. Ages: 16 years and up. Fees: $79 resident/$89 non-resident.
•  Yoga - This active flow Yoga class includes postures that are sequenced to provide a contemporary fitness approach to traditional Yoga practice. Ages: 14 years and up. Fees: $52 resident/$62 non-resident.
•  Yoga Circle - Stretch and strengthen with a flow of postures while improving balance and flexibility in this gentle yet challenging Yoga class. Ages: 14 years and up. Fees: $51 resident/$61 non-resident.
•  Yoga Plus - Class combines Yoga and Pilates techniques, and includes postures plus a selection of Pilates mat work exercises. Ages: 14 and up. Fees: $59 resident/$69 non-resident.
• Zumba - Class features exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Ages: 13 years and up. Fees: $49 resident/$59 non-resident.

• Ballet IV: Pre Pointe and Pointe - Dancers build on ballet experience, and focus on fine-tuning techniques and working on advanced combinations. Ages: 7 to 18 years. Fees: $54-60 resident/$64-70 non-resident. 
•  Ballet IV and Pointe - Dancers with advanced ballet experience can work on existing techniques and learn combinations generally focused toward the pointe. Ages: 10 to 18 years. Fees: $53 resident/$63 non-resident. 
•  Contemporary/Lyrical III-IV - Dancers combine both ballet technique and various jazz styles while focusing on lyrical combinations and progressions. Ages: 8 to 18 years. Fees: $48 resident/$58 non-resident. 
•  Kid Yoga - Children can learn the poses used in Hatha Yoga in a kid-friendly, fun way. Ages: 5 to 10 years. Fees: $63 resident/$73 non-resident.
•  Leaps & Turns - Specifically designed to teach proper technique for turns (chaines, pirouettes, piques, etc.), this class is recommended to be taken along with a student's regular dance class. Ages: 8 to 18 years. Fees: $54 resident/$64 non-resident.
•  Lyrical I - Across the floor and centered exercises are covered in this beginner's class that builds on the movement of ballet. Ages: 8 to 14 years. Fees: $44 resident/$54 non-resident.
•  Music Moves - Children will enjoy singing, dancing and playing instruments while learning music and movement activities designed to meet cognitive and overall development needs. Ages: 2 months to 4 years. Fees: $74-89 resident/$84-99 non-resident.
•  Strength and Strengthening: Dance Core Conditioning - Designed to increase range motion and flexibility, this class consists of stretch exercises and strength building to sculpt major muscles. Ages: 6 to 18 years.Fees: $54 resident/$64 non-resident.
•  Youth Chess - This beginner class will teach kids, kindergarten through second grade, how to play chess. Ages: 5 to 7 years. Fees: $120 resident/$130 non-resident.
•  Zumbatomic - Specially designed for kids, this class is a healthy and fun program that uses the Zumba fitness concept. Ages: 8 to 12 years. Fees: $49 resident/$59 non-resident.
